Alien Day Live Review



April 26 celebrates Alien’s Day chosen to remember LV-426, the planet’s name from Alien films.

The Live started with a presentation of American and foreign artists contest and the use of Oculus VR using H. R. Giger’s drawings. Then, the host asked to the main actors the questions from Twitter: First time seeing Alien (1979), opinion about working with Director Ridley Scott, actors’ work during the creation of the movie from personal experiences performing the role (what fans expect from Katherine Waterston as Daniels in comparison to Ripley performed by Sigourney Weaver, workout to achieve characters’ physical appearance) to overall experience in the settings which were like a playground for them.

Next it was mentioned the contest called Alien Escape organized by Madame Tussauds in London and fans enjoyed seeing some of the film sets. Finally, it was announced the winner for Ultimate Alien Fan Art Contest (Jacob Kuddes) along with the artists invited to the Live.

In the end, Director Ridley Scott presented to the fans The Crossing, which is a prologue giving an insight to the continuation of Prometheus (2012, Dir. Ridley Scott).

We are looking forward to see Alien Covenant!

Heroes Manga 2017





Heroes Manga
took place on April 22nd and 23rd of 2017. It was a great opportunity to get to know Spanish artists, like María Latorre and Jesús Humanes, along with the latest news on the genre.

First, fans enjoyed the music from The Legend of Zelda (Shigeru Miyamoto & Takashi Tezuka, 1986) and Final Fantasy X, Distant Worlds, (franchise created by Hironobu Sakaguchi, 1987), in a live concert.

Second, they ate and loved Japanese cuisine, especially traditional desserts! Next exhibitions were on display with traditional kimonos and other features from Japanese culture like the courses offered in Casa Asia situated in Madrid and Barcelona.

Moving on, professional cosplayers participated in the event dress up as classic characters and new ones. It was interesting to see that the new generations adore classics like Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (Naoko Takeuchi, 1991) or Dragon Ball (Akira Toriyama, 1984). Even lots of selfies were made with the original Doraemon statues! (Fujiko F. Fujio, 1969)

Finally, similarly to Expocómic 16, Heroes Manga also included for the entire day exhibitions of traditional Japanese and Asian martial arts along with a sections to try out the latest videogames on the market.
In the end, Heroes Manga served to introduce people to manga and local artists along with giving back to older fans an insight to the past of the golden era of the genre!

The Guardians of the Earth Type Planets Anniversary!

The Guardians of the Earth Type Planets was published on April 7, 2014, in Amazon Kindle. Since then, the novel has been known through this blog and the official Facebook and Twitter along with Goodreads and YouTube. The novel tells Amaranth’s story, a young girl from planet Twinmortal, who obtains a map to search for a mysterious castle. In her adventure she will encounter all kinds of creatures from vampires and dragons to artificially intelligent machines. It is a science fiction novel that puts into question human nature and environment problems that can be related to our present time. I hope it entertains you in all four seasons anywhere you go!
