InSight and Martian science fiction!

Last month on May 5 was launched InSight Mission, part of NASA Journey to Mars, to explore the core of planet Mars and discover its composition with the ultimate goal of researching its evolution until the present state. Another small step to eventually have in the future a human trip to the Martian planet.

Here are the latest science fiction adventures imagining a near time human mission to Mars:

The Martian(2015, Dir. Ridley Scott)

Before Mars(short, 2016, is a prequel to Mars TV series)

Mars (TV 2016): Opening, trailer and official site (a second season is coming this fall 2018)

Finally, for gamers I selected two videogame franchises having adventures in the red planet:

DOOM

Red Faction

Sunday with InSight and Martian science fiction!

Yesterday was launched InSight, part of NASA Journey to Mars, to explore the core of planet Mars and discover its composition with the ultimate goal of researching its evolution until the present state. Another small step to eventually have in the future a human trip to the Martian planet.🌌💗

Here are the latest science fiction adventures imagining a near time human mission to Mars:

The Martian (2015, Dir. Ridley Scott)

Before Mars(short, 2016, is a prequel to Mars TV series)

Mars (TV 2016): Opening, trailer and official site (a second season is coming this fall 2018)

Finally, for gamers I selected the classic trailers of the DOOM franchise having horror adventures in the red planet:

Doom (1993)

Doom 2: Hell On Earth (1994)

Final Doom (1996)

Doom 64 (1997)

Doom 3 (2004)

Doom 3:Resurrection of Evil (2005)

Doom 3: BFG edition (2012)

Doom (2016): Demo available in the official site of DOOM.

April 22: Earth Day

For this Earth Day 2018 we are reminded once more to take care of our planet contributing the best we can with civic measures for environmental protection (recycling, avoiding the use of plastic bags when possible, use our potable water sensibly, etc.) and the defense of the eco system (protecting endangered species, encouraging green zones in cities and the like). Regarding the science fiction genre many literature works and movies have been made showing the terrible effects of the human impact in planet Earth. Here are a few I would recommend:

Pebble in the Sky (1950, Isaac Asimov)

Blade Runner: Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (1968, Philip K. Dick)

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984, Dir. Hayao Miyazaki)

Waterworld (1995, Dir. Kevin Reynolds)

Princess Mononoke (1997, Dir. Hayao Miyazaki)

The Day After Tomorrow (2004, Dir. Roland Emmerich)

Casshern (2004, Dir. Kazuaki Kiriya)

The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008, Dir. Scott Derrickson)

Finally, this is my illustration for Earth Day & my first novel The Guardians of the Earth Type Planets. My first novel shows many environmental issues that I was concerned about when I wrote it. The six guardians need to find out about the dead planet Mortal while at the same time during the journey they have to protect their planet Twinmortal.😍💗🌌
