This year
Expocómic was dedicated to many science fiction works like Wonder Woman,
Suicide Squad… but the two things that attracted people the most were Star Wars
and the upcoming Alien: Covenant!
Among many
activities which promoted Star Wars and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016,
Dir. Gareth Edwards), Versus Madrid appealed to people of all ages. The stage
combat showed all the Star Wars spirit which seemed like watching a theater
play and all the movies from the past to come back to live.
The second
event was to take countless selfies and group photos with the two statues from
Alien to promote not only H. R. Giger’s Xenomorph but also Stan Winston’s
Predator. It was remarkable how the second statue was completely made of metal
like the one seen in Hotel Hananoyu (Shizuoka, Japan).
Finally,
even though this was a day for comics, Expocómic also included many other
activities related to music, videos and even sports! For example, Tripe W
(White Wolf Wrestling) offered amazing exhibitions.
