Summer starts with Mars

In August 2015 a special about Mars was offered in this blog. Now in 2016, the red planet is still the main topic in the science fiction genre:

In autumn we had The Martian (Scott, 2015) with an excellent performance by Matt Damon showing a scientific scenario future astronauts might have to face.

Sadly, new generations got to know the song “Life on Mars?” when the legendary singer and musician David Bowie died on the 10th of January 2016.

Finally, on May 13th 2016 came out the new version of the classic Doom with promising Martian landscapes and lots of action.

As an extra, we now offer an expansion on the classic portrayal of Mars with the following:

Total Recall (Verhoeven, 1990) based on the short story “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale” (Dick, 1966).

John Carter (Stanton, 2012) based on A Princess of Mars (Burroughs, 1912).

To end, just to relax and maybe use as a wallpaper you have this wonderful selection of sci-fi illustrations about Mars and Doom.
